This application allows Dr. Lark to accurately place implants by first performing virtual surgery on the computer using the VIP software. Dr. Lark can precisely locate the position of vital structures such as nerves, sinuses, and bone concavities, prior to the actual surgery. The computer sends commands to a precision 3-D milling machine which develops surery guides which duplicates the virtual surgery at the actual site.
By using VIP software and the I-CAT, Dr. Lark can perform safe and predictable implant surgery assuring that the implant is place precisely where it was planned. This approach also frequently allows surgery without the need of scalpel incisons or stitches. bleeding and discomfort are minimal. Therefore, the initial healing time is dramatically decreased.
